Angela has completed all of her coursework towards her Doctorate in Public Administration. She is currently working on her dissertation research where she is study the careers of women who are leaders of nonprofits. Her hope is that her research will provide aspiring leaders an opportunity to learn from other woman who have paved the way.

Selected as one of only 38 students (out of 100's of applicants) for the 40th year of the National Urban Fellows, Angela completed her Masters of Public Administration. In addition to her coarse work, Angela also spend 9 months at the New York Foundling to develop both Succession Plans for the top leadership of the organization, and an agency wide Leadership Development Program.

As a single mother, Angela worked full time and went to MSU part time to complete her bachelors degree in Sociology. While it took 7 years to complete that 4 year degree, she was proud of her accomplishment and decided then that she wanted to one day be Dr. Gustus.
